Not sure if Shopify cares, but the UI for selecting a store is pretty terrible when there is more than 5 stores on an account. I just spent a back and forth of about a day with a customer saying they didn’t have access to a store they own because the screen doesn’t clearly show that it scrolls. It wasn’t until they sent me this screenshot that I realized what was happening.
Topic summary
Issue: The login “Select store” UI is confusing for accounts with more than five stores. The list does not clearly indicate that it scrolls, leading users to think their store is missing.
Impact: A merchant spent a day going back and forth with a customer who believed they lacked access to a store they own. Only after seeing a screenshot did it become clear the user needed to scroll to reveal additional stores.
Media: An attached screenshot is central to illustrating the lack of an obvious scroll affordance.
Shopify response: A staff member acknowledged the confusion and flagged it as a potential accessibility issue. The feedback has been submitted to the development team for consideration.
Status: No fix announced. Discussion remains open, with an invitation for further feedback.
Hi there @teynon
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback. We absolutely care and I can definitely see how that window could be confusing to someone. This could also be a potential accessibility issue as well.
I’ve submitted this feedback to our devs for further consideration and hopefully we can improve the UI for the login screen. Don’t hesitate to continue sharing your feedback here if anything else comes up.
