So hello everyone i am facing a severe issue regarding Shopify analytics in which they show sales by Social data but the problem is the data Shopify is showing is not same as the Meta & google Analytics. For Example, as per our Shopify, our sales by social percentage is 15% but according to Meta is 54%, which is a huge difference.
Can anyone help me how to fix this issue or is this a bug from Shopify?
Hi @SpringsMart , thank you for posting here!
Did you set up or adjust your channel grouping in Google Analytics to pull in your Facebook UTMs? If not, that could be causing this. (not set) shows up when Google doesn’t know or isn’t sure what the UTMs are for a purchase and thus tracking is brown somewhere.
You should also make sure the conversion API is set up in Shopify if it’s not. You need that set up on top of the Facebook pixel. Shopify isn’t an analytics platform, so don’t expect it to correctly track things from any ad platform. Your focus should be on getting your Google Analytics in a better place.
It’s hard to know what you didn’t do as you have yet to list what you have set up beyond Facebook UTMs, which is only one piece of getting all this tracking working.

Hi, This is most likely a difference in the attribution model. The most common are last touch which Shopify is probably using. Ad networks will use attribution that makes their platform look to be the most beneficial.
