Shopify ancient reports.

Topic summary

A developer is building an embedded Shopify app to replicate the previous version of Shopify’s reports and analytics, seeking merchant feedback on pain points with the current system.

Key Issues Reported:

  • Data Accuracy Problems: Custom Behavior metrics (add to cart, checkout reached, conversions) show incorrect figures, sometimes displaying zero conversions when sales occurred. These metrics don’t align with data shown elsewhere in analytics.
  • Usability Challenges: The new interface makes it difficult to view all data points on one page or generate comprehensive reports, unlike the previous version.
  • Specific Feature Loss: Site speed analytics format has become unnecessarily complicated compared to the old version.

Current Status:

  • Merchants have largely stopped using Shopify’s native analytics due to these difficulties.
  • At least one support case is open, though expectations for resolution are low.
  • The discussion remains open as the developer collects requirements for their alternative solution.

Hello everyone, we’ve heard about the merchants struggle with the new reports and analytics. So we’re currently building an embedded Shopify reporting and analytics app, that simulates the last version of the feature, to elevate the complexity and struggle of the new version.

Feel free to write down you suggestions, features, issues and struggles with the new reports & analytics so we can build a suitable product for your need.

Thank you and appreciate your help !!!

issues we have: the Custom Behavior figures are wrong. add to cart, reached checkout and conversions are inaccurate. some days I will have conversions and it says zero. the add to cart and reached checkout don’t match with the data in other parts of the analytics.

but as far as reports, we used to be able to pull up all the data points on one page and pull up a report. now we struggle to be able to find a way for them all to be added to the report. we have gotten to the point where we don’t look at the analytics any longer in Shopify since it is so difficult to use.

I have a case open now trying to get some help. odds are it will be closed with no follow up from Shopify

Hi

Please keep me updated on the new app

I specifically used the old formats for site speed analytics. The new format is un-necessarily complicated
