Shopify and Google Merchant Policy Issues: Help and if possible clarification

Hello, I just started trying to get my Shopify store integrated with Merchant, however I keep continuously getting denied for policy violations. The most recent of which is “Website or online store needs improvement”.

Are there any services or online tools I can use to check what the manual validator is saying for my site (https://newkyte.com). Or any eagle eyed or familiar folks can see immediately what’s missing here?

I’ve implemented and gone through a few extensive lists I’ve found here and on reddit, but I’m still failing, so I’m clearly missing something.

Also, while the policy is “specific” it’s generally so. Why, if the reviews are manual, don’t we get an example of where the fault of the site is? The bulleted list is infuriating as I go through each one and I’ve no idea where the specific issue is. It feels like purposeful vagueness, so is it supposed to be? “If you really care about this you’ll find the item causing this”.

Appreciate any help or insight for this hobbyist confused by the tech and process.

I found two other questions with Google support suggesting DNS checks and a broken link checker. I tried both and found that the only broken DNS is from Quebec and the only “broken” links, seem to be the privacy policy in that they are blocked from crawling. Further reading suggests that’s how it ought to be.
Do I need to fix either of these? Refreshing the DNS checking page results in sporadic changes of :multiply: 's and :check_mark: 's.

Here is what I mentioned on the Google Ads community:

Check if you are legally allowed to sell what you selling, printing out copyrighted products may not be allowed.

Also print on demand in general is not supported. Items must be stocked and ready for shipping as soon as someone places an order.

Missing business details in the footer of all pages. (business name, email, business hours, addresss, phone)

On your contact page there is a missing contact form.

Make sure that on the product landing page you show if an item is in or out of stock.

Since 2020 Google no longer shares specifics, due to too many scammers. Getting on the platform.
Broken links should be fixed yes. But sporadic DNS issues, not really, unless it happens all the time.

You might have more issues, so make sure to check:

Thanks, here’s my response from there for completeness…

Thanks for the answers and context (the detail literally made me happy). I’m curious so I’ll dig into more of that 2020 story to get some more clarity and technical sympathy.

As for the others…:

  • It’s not print on demand so I’ll update if I have this listed anywhere. I have a stock of items I’ve pre-made and make more when I run low.
  • As far as I could read what I’m selling should be fine though I’m referencing the base product the cases go on… I don’t have an attorney to check that, but cases and the like aren’t sold.
  • The business detail being on ALL pages in the footer I guess is something I missed, I thought it was referring to the contact page being available at all times. I can fix that.
  • I could find no broken links, and the DNS just seems to be one or two swaps every few checks…
  • The contact form is on a different page, so I’ll consolidate so that all the contact pages lead to the same one.
  • I’ll update the stock settings, right now it’s set to show out of stock when, well, out of stock, but didn’t realize it had to literally say in stock.

Thanks again, this is at least helpful guidance, I was getting quite frustrated and defeated prior. Really appreciate the time.

What I’ll add here, is that this feels like I’m not at the level for this service maybe. Due to lack of a detailed response, followed by a possible full account suspension, it seems way too easy to end up with a suspended account unless I pay an SEO service or know the community/services intimately beforehand… or like, going through several suspensions and eating/breathing the documentation and Youtube like a college course… I can see why some folks may stay on the marketplace platforms much longer before embracing leaving the nest to the awesomeness of Shopify. Appreciate your time again!

Thank you again @EmmanuelFlossie , I have made the changes, and my time limit is up where I can now re-request a review. But, I’m very wary. Are you, able to suggest a proper portal where maybe I can pay for services or someone to provide additional review or feedback so I don’t gut permanently suspended? If you’re able to see anything at a glance, I’d appreciate it.

What’s been worrying me is since making this post I’ve gotten several sketcy/scammy messages and emails offering me services but I don’t know whom to trust… Appreciate any additional insight.

Feel free to reach out in the link below my signature. Happy to assist.

I know, these so called experts that send you unsolicited services, should not be trusted. It’s a known issue.
