I’m currently brainstorming a new app idea and wanted to get some brutal honesty from the store owners and devs here before I write a single line of code.
The Problem: Right now, when a customer creates an account on a Shopify store, their profile picture is usually a generic grey silhouette or just their initials. It’s functional, but it’s pretty boring and doesn’t do much for store branding, community building, or gamification.
The Idea: An app that automatically generates unique, fun, and stylized profile pictures for customers the moment they create an account. Think along the lines of Reddit avatars, unique geometric patterns, or fun pixel art.
Core Features I’m Thinking About:

Auto-assignment: Every new and existing user gets a unique generated avatar.

Brand Customization: Store owners can choose a “theme” or color palette that matches their brand (e.g., a pet store gets animal avatars, a streetwear brand gets minimalist graffiti icons).

Customer Control: Customers can click to “re-roll” their avatar if they want a different one, or customize the colors.

I’m really trying to figure out if this is a “cool feature but no one will pay for it” situation, or if it genuinely adds value to your storefronts.
