Hi, I’ve been encountering persistent issues with bulk editing products with manual selection.
Let’s say I have 5 products: Product A, B, C, D, and E, and I need to manually search for each item and select it.
After selecting all the 5 products, I toggle on “Show all selected” - which then shows all 5 products selected. I then click “Bulk Edit”, but it only selects 1.
Why is this happening constantly? I tried refreshing the page, a different browser, and incognito but no luck. Anyone having the same issue? If so, how to tackle it? This is super inconvenient because all the once selected items are automatically deselected when you try again—which fails everytime.

Hi @pmistrycreative these are peer to peer forums.
For actual reproducible bugs contact shopify support DIRECTLY:
http://help.shopify.com/ → chat with a human in the lower right(as of 2026-03)
I can reproduce this to ; chrome latest windows 10.
Even NOT clicking “Show all selected” can result in only one product making it to the bulk edit.
So there’s actually like two bugs here , or three bugs in a trench coat if the bulk edit should be disabled when selecting disparate products through searching..
Otherwise in a sane universe you should just be able to skip the “Show all selected” step because why would you have to show all if the targets are already selected and showing all causes a bug; but there’s some underlying bug /shurg.
Turn off any browser extensions that affect pages, e.g adblockers, shortcut helpers, userscripts, etc.
Last thing to check is it’s happening on a different device / browser combo.
If not clear the badly behaving browsers cache etc.
@pmistrycreative ,
Hi,
This usually happens because of how Shopify’s product list filters and selections work. When you manually search and select products one by one, sometimes only the currently loaded result gets passed to the Bulk Editor, even though the UI shows multiple selected items. It’s a known behavior that can feel like a bug.
After selecting the products, don’t toggle Show all selected. Just click Bulk Edit directly.
Make sure you are selecting the products from the same search/filter result not from separate searches.
If possible, apply a filter or tag to those products first and then select them together from the filtered list.
Many store owners avoid this issue by tagging the products temporarily and then bulk editing from the tag filter. It’s much more stable than manual selection.
few days ago i tried it work for me if not you can try free app Airo Bulk Editor.it will solve your basic and advance level problem.
Yeah, the admin UI gets super buggy when you try to retain selections across different search queries. Paul is right, definitely report it to support.
In the meantime, workaround for this can be using a temporary tag. Search for Product A, add a tag like temp-edit, and do the same for B, C, D, and E. Then clear your search, filter your main product list by that temp-edit tag, select all, and hit Bulk Edit.
It works every time and saves you from losing your selection. Just remember to delete the tag in the bulk editor when you’re done.
