So, I’m testing Shopify’s Bundle App, and it seems to work great. However, there’s a weird problem. I created and then made a Bundle active. I placed a test order, needed to fix something then went back to create another one and it said the bundle didn’t exist.
I checked the product list and it had automatically changed itself from Active to Draft. I re-enabled the bundle, and it did this again.
Right now the bundle contains 3 of a physical item and 2 digital add ons.
Has anyone experienced products auto-setting to Draft? I feel like I’m missing some larger setting.
Following up to say there’s still no fix for us. We just have to keep an eye on it unfortunately. We replace the bundle with a new one each week. Plenty of times we have no issues. But other times it’s very frustrating.
Is the issue still happening? My bundle app also has the same issue. I wonder if it’s related to the cart transformation API. It powers Shopify bundles app and my app. Did you fail any item in the eligibility requirements?
This happens if you change the variants of any of the component items in the bundles. Like if you edit the text in the variant option value (e.g., change text from Extra Small to X-Small). Unsure about other variant-level changes (price, sku, etc) but if name affects it, other properties probably do as well.
This is not that issue. It doesn’t really happen to me any more. Zero change would be done to the item, variant or otherwise, and then the system would randomly make it a draft again.
Just to clarify, I meant the products that are the components of the
bundles (having a variant change), not the bundle itself. There may be (and
almost certainly are) other reasons too that a bundle goes to draft but I
can definitely confirm a variant change of a component item is one of the
reasons. Happens to me like clockwork. Just in case it’s helpful for anyone
else reading this thread looking into this issue.
I understood. And while some may be surprised that changing items and variants of items that are in the Bundle changes the Bundle status to a draft, Shopify does a good job of notifying you of this when you do it. Unfortunately, this particular issue is not that. Would have been great if it was simply people being unaware of how the feature works instead of a code goblin.
