Hi. I use Recharge for my subscription app, and recently, when the recurring orders run through the Shopify checkout, a value (word) of “none” is being put into the Customer notes section. We have to open all orders to see if there is really a customer note, but it’s only the word “None.” We thought it was coming from Recharge, but they have researched it and found that a change on the Shopify side is generating “none” rather than the null value they generate. I have a document with screen shots showing what I mean if you need, but we’d like to know what has to change to get that to stop happening so that the Recharge team can generate their change in bulk to fix it.

Welcome to the Shopify community!
Thanks for your good question.
So what do you need? How can i help you?
I just need for Shopify to accept the null value sent by Recharge when they process one of my subscription checkouts. Apparently that was the way it has always worked, but lately, instead of there being no entry in the customer notes, every time a Recharge checkout happens, the word “none” is inserted into the customer notes field. We’d like for that to stop. There should be no entry into the customer notes field, unless it’s by our actual customer. If Shopify can identify what they changed to cause this to start happening, perhaps the Recharge folks can make a change on their end to fix it but no one can understand why their sending a null entry is interpreted as a text entry of “None.”
Hello @Healthwhisperer ,
For something like this, I would strongly recommend opening a live chat interaction with our Support agents. They can authenticate you, which would be required in order to examine the logs behind any order creations in your shop. There should be logs that show the nature of any given order creation as well as what service is responsible for inserting a customer note, just be sure to grab any of the most recent examples in your shop and they can help you out!
