Shopify Checkout - Order Confirmation - Show Random Characters Instead Of The Order ID

Hello Shopify Community,

Newbie to Shopify and interested in knowing how you can show random characters instead of the order ID on the confirmation page, like another store owner has done. In addition according to a builtwith technology lookup the store owner does not use Shopify Plus.

In the photo you will see ‘Confirmation #L0MGV5QGW’ however in the past it use to show the order ID.

I was under the impression that you could only add a prefix or a suffix to the order ID.

Is this achieved by adding an additional script that changes the output of the order ID?

Very interested in understanding how this can be achieved.

Need help too. It happens more frequently now. Some of our payment method requires users to put the order number in their payment bank receipt, the random string makes it harder for our customers now.
