Shopify Collective Partner Marketing Email Spam

Has anyone found a clean workaround for this issue? I am going crazy dealing with the sheer number of Collective partner marketing emails I get daily. I use Gmail. I’ve tried setting up filters but it doesn’t seem to be working, plus so many of the companies I partner with use the same email for their marketing as they do for their support or direct contact…so I am worried important emails will get lost in the mix. It is maddening. Shopify needs to correct this issue. Look at this. This is one partner, and not even the worst. I probably get hundreds of emails a day, all day because of this issue.

Hey @StayReadyOutd

These aren’t Shopify emails, they’re the supplier’s own marketing, so Shopify can’t switch them off, but you can. That screenshot is a separate issue: one partner sent the same email ten times in two minutes, so report that to Augason Farms directly, it’s their bug. For the flood, unsubscribe from each partner’s marketing, it won’t stop their support replies since those run separately. And your filters miss because you’re keyed on the sender, filter on the “Collective, Supplier” label or “has the words: unsubscribe” instead, set to skip the inbox and apply a label, not delete.

Hope that helps! If it did, a Like and Marking it as Solution goes a long way and helps others find the fix faster too.

Best,
Moeed

I understand what the emails are and where they are coming from. When a customer purchases a product fulfilled by a collective partner, it generates a unique email address using MY email (eg, collective+8543722897560@stayreadyoutdoors.com). This means when they send out a marketing email to their email list, every one of those unique email addresses gets said marketing email.

I’ve already spoken to Shopify support about this and they acknowledge the issue. The problem is, there’s no way to “turn it off” via Collective, since it is happening on the supplier side.

What I am looking for is a solution within Gmail that allows me to filter these emails out effectively, shunting them to a separate inbox or folder and marking them “Read” automatically, so I am not receiving a hundred notifications within a minute or two every time a partner sends out an email to their list.

Hitting “Unsubscribe” on every single one of these emails is a massive time sink I cannot afford as a single person running a business. I have hundreds of these emails coming in daily. I’m hoping someone else smarter than I am, who has experienced this same issue, has a filter setup they can share that effectively handles this with some occasional maintenance.
