I have a question in regards to Shopify Customer Registration. Currently when a customer registers on my store I have a shopify tag added to their account named ‘Customer Account’ and if they tick the box for marketing emails then the shopify tag ‘Newsletter’ will also be added to their account. These tags are then sent to my email marketing platform (Klaviyo) and this all works great.
However, I would like to send out an email outreach by a personal email to potential customers and send them a free PDF when they register. My thought was to send the email with copy and a link to the my Shopify stores customer registration page. Once they sign up they then receive an automated email of a free digital download PDF.
How would I go about tagging customers with ‘Freedownload’ when they sign up from a link in an email only? and that this doesn’t effect the regular way people register?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
