Has anyone noticed that Shopify has recently keeps making new updates and everything is more complicated and so many more step. They hide features that used to be easy to locate, Even the AI tool cant locate alot of them. I’m not sure who the new re-designs are made for but definity not designed for humans. I think they are using AI to create all of the new features but no one human is involved in the design. The product pages, collections pages are the worst. All of my stored sizing and colors are gone with the recent update. Adding inventory is 3 times the work and full of places for errors.
This is exactly what I think is going on. The nonsensical moves and adjustments are typical for ai, and not even a good ai, like the cheapest you can get.
I still chuckle every time I see the Flow canvas going top-down on a wide desktop screen. Even when zoomed all the way out I cannot get it all on canvas lol.
@Z-Rays2190 ,
I can definitely relate to this. Shopify has added a lot of powerful features over the years but some of the newer changes do feel like they’ve made simple tasks more complicated than they need to be.
The product and inventory areas are probably the ones where I notice it most. Things that used to take a couple of clicks now sometimes involve going through multiple screens or settings.
I think the issue isnt necessarily that Shopify is adding too many features but that the UX should remain simple for merchants who just want to get their daily work done. New functionality is great but it shouldn’t come at the cost of making existing workflows harder.
Hi @Z-Rays2190 You’re not alone in this 0 a lot of merchants are hitting the same wall. Each update seems to add steps instead of removing them, and the people paying the price are store owners who just want to get things done.
The variant and inventory changes are especially frustrating. Losing stored sizing and color data isn’t a minor inconvenience, that’s real time lost rebuilding things that already worked.
We’ve been thinking a lot about this problem at Weaverse - how to give merchants more control over their storefront without being at the mercy of whatever Shopify decides to reorganize next. Still a work in progress, but the goal is fewer steps, not more.
Hope Shopify is paying attention to threads like this. ![]()
Hi @Z-Rays2190 Welcome To Shopify Community This resonates, the variant/options workflow especially has gotten more clicks and steps than it used to be, and losing stored sizing/colors after an update sounds like a genuinely frustrating bug, not just a UX preference issue. If your sizing and color options actually disappeared (not just moved), that’s worth reporting directly to Shopify support as a bug rather than a redesign complaint, since that sounds like it could be affecting live product data, not just interface layout. For the general redesign frustration, checking Shopify’s changelog page usually helps locate where a moved feature ended up, since they don’t always announce where things get relocated to clearly.Hope this helps solve your problem, and if it does, don’t forget to like and mark it as the solution. Thank you!
Hi @Z-Rays2190
I’ve noticed this too. Shopify is becoming more powerful, but some everyday tasks seem more complicated than before.
As someone who works with Shopify stores regularly, I’d love to see more focus on keeping things simple for merchants.
