I have a Shopify store that has only Germany and Austria defined as Markets. Ads and other marketing is also going only into those two countries.
For some reason there is quite a big difference between Shopify sessions and Facebook ads (Unique link clicks) - Shopify is showing much smaller number.
I suspect Cookies are correctly set-up so that part shouldn’t be a problem.
Germany and Austria is the only two that I want atm.
Problem is that when people click on the link (no matter the country) Shopify doesn’t record it as a session. At first I thought there is some GDPR problem which I doubt now.
Yes bro I am almost experiencing the same Issue. I am running UK campaigns on Facebook and Shopify is tracking 0 sessions. I am even getting sales and Facebook pixel tracks it as 0.
i am running a USA campaign (same pixel, same Shopify, same landing page) and Shopify+Facebook seems to be tracking correctly.
I tried to use a cookie banner app to fix this issue, but that doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Do you know of any fix?
Hi @Trix32x@CED9 & @MikeEd , I understand how frustrating it can be when session tracking isn’t working as expected.
If you haven’t already, I recommend trying out our app, Pandectes GDPR Compliance. Our app is fully integrated with Shopify’s Customer Privacy API and can help ensure proper handling of cookies and consent for visitors from different regions, like Germany and Austria, as well as other EU countries. Since your campaigns target regions with strict privacy regulations, this could be impacting the session tracking.
