I have set up an email address for my Shopify store, and set it to forward to my existing gmail account. When I check the settings it all looks correct, but no emails are coming through.

May I ask when you set up the email forward? It can take up to 24 hours for the connection to be made between the new email and your existing Gmail account. Sometimes the emails can end up in the spam folder so be sure to check there as well.
If after 24 hours you are not receiving the emails, we would need to verify the set up of your domain and email forward specifications. Our support team will need to take a deeper look into your account in this case. They can be contacted here.
