shopify email - sent email list

Topic summary

A user migrated from Shopify Email to Yotpo after only 3,000 of 10,000 emails were sent with high bounce rates. They needed to identify which subscribers received the Shopify emails to avoid duplicate sends.

Initial Recommendation:

  • Access Shopify Email campaign reports under Marketing
  • Export recipient lists or view detailed statistics
  • Use the sent list as an exclusion in Yotpo
  • Review bounce data to clean the subscriber list

Solution Found:
The original poster contacted Shopify support and discovered a method using customer segments:

  1. Navigate to Customers → Segments
  2. Create a new segment using filters
  3. Select “shopify_email.delivered” filter
  4. Match it to the specific campaign’s activity_id (found in the email campaign URL)
  5. Run the query to generate the list of delivered emails

This approach allows precise identification of the 3,000 successfully delivered emails, enabling targeted sending of the remaining 7,000 through Yotpo without duplication.

I’m a beginner and don’t know much about computer.

I sent almost 10k emails from my website subcribers via shopify email app. I used to use mailchimp.

Only 3k were sent and very high bounced rate so I decided to use yotpo email marketing.

My question is how to get a report of the 3k emails that have been sent by shopify? So when I use yotpo, I won’t send twice to the 3k subscibers and only send the remaining 7k emails.

Thank you.

Hello @Jobu99 ,

Here’s a way to find out which emails were successfully sent using Shopify Email:

  1. Access Your Shopify Email Reports:

    • In your Shopify admin, go to Marketing and look for your Shopify Email campaigns.
    • Click on the specific campaign you sent. Shopify usually provides a report showing how many emails were delivered, opened, and bounced.
  2. Export or Note the Sent List:

    • Some campaigns let you export a CSV of recipients, or at least view the detailed statistics. Look for an option like “View report” or “Export recipients.”
    • This will help you identify the roughly 3k emails that were actually sent out.
  3. Avoid Duplicate Sends with Yotpo:

    • Once you have your list of successfully sent emails, you can upload that list as an exclusion list in your Yotpo email marketing tool. This way, you’ll only target the remaining subscribers.
  4. Double-Check Bounce Data:

    • Pay attention to the bounce rate details provided in the report. Even if only 3k emails were sent, if many bounced, you’ll want to clean your list before running a new campaign.

If you can’t find the export option or the report isn’t detailed enough, consider reaching out to Shopify Email support for guidance. That should help ensure you don’t inadvertently email the same contacts twice.

Hope that helps get you sorted out!
