Shopify Expression Theme: Adding Background Colour to Product Images On Collection Pages

Hello,

My client has the Expression Shopify theme installed on the store that is being developed.

He’s asked for a background colour to be applied to the products on the collection pages and possibly the product pages. This is what he wants to mirror: https://objktsjewelry.com/collections/the-waves-collection

Currently it seems like the images are being displayed as JPG. Can you switch them to PNGs?

For the site that I referred to, the images are in a JPG format, so how have they done it? https://objktsjewelry.com/collections/the-waves-collection

We could switch the images to PNG but that would mean the client having to cut out the image which is something that I know he won’t want to be doing.
