Hi everyone. I run a store that has a few product types, including apparel. I recently saw that Shopify released their metafields based on the type of product category a product belongs to. For example, if you say a product is a t-shirt, Shopify will automatically add their Shopify-owned metafields, such as fabric, age group, target gender, neckline, etc etc.
Ideally what I want to happen is to create a flow where once a product is added to the store, the flow checks for a certain tag and applies the correct values to the Shopify-owned metafields.
However I am puzzled about how do to this. For one, is it possible to apply these values before a category has been assigned to the product? I don’t see of a way to automatically assign a category or a product type using Flow. If that is possible, please someone correct me.
Secondly, I want to make sure I am inputting the action’s form fields correctly. Take the shirt’s fabric, for example. It looks like Shopify is using Fabric as a list of metaobjects, such as a metaobject with the label of “cotton.” It also looks like the metafield namespace is shopify and the key is fabric. Is this screenshot correct? Again, this is the Shopify Flow action I am creating to assign the value of “cotton” to the Fabric metafield, where cotton is a metaobject and the value below is its gid.
Any insight into this is helpful. The help docs don’t really talk much about this use case.
