Shopify froze $55,000 of my money. I am writing this from zero. Please someone at Shopify read this

I am writing this because I do not know what else to do.

Shopify Payments was disabled on my store. Approximately $55,000 USD of my pending payouts is frozen until September 2026.

Ticket ID: 1fb694fc-0b0e-40e3-9941-43b2e2c47bc5

The denial email I received is the standard form letter. “After reviewing the information you provided, we have confirmed that your business presents a level of risk that we are unable to support with Shopify Payments.” Signed only “Shopify Merchant Trust Team” from an email address marked “This email address is not monitored.”

No human spoke to me at any point.

No specific reason was given.

No criteria for review.

No real path to appeal.

The appeal I did submit was denied with the same form letter.

I am not a scam store. I am not a dropshipper. I am not a reseller.

I am a real small brand. I manufacture my own product under my own custom formula in a real facility. I have a verified Meta business page in our brand name. I have customers who keep coming back to reorder because the product actually works. I built every part of this with my own hands. Late nights. Every formula test. Every customer email at 2am. From absolutely nothing.

I have offered Shopify any proof they want. Manufacturing facility photos. Video walkthroughs of production. Formula documentation. Supplier invoices. Manufacturing agreements. Branded packaging close-ups. A live verification video with my ID and a piece of paper with today’s date. Whatever they ask, I will send within hours.

Shopify has not engaged with any of it. The form letter was the end of the conversation.

The situation right now in real life:

My bank account is at zero.

My suppliers are unpaid.

My delivery companies are unpaid.

My team is unpaid.

My rent is unpaid.

I cannot buy food for my family this week.

I am writing this from Israel after a war that already destroyed so many small businesses here. I have nothing left. Genuinely nothing.

I am not exaggerating any of this. This is my exact situation in the moment I am writing this post.

A 120 day freeze on already earned revenue, with no human review and no specific reason, is not risk management. It is the destruction of a real small business by a black box decision that nobody at Shopify will defend with their name attached.

I am begging. To anyone at Shopify who reads this. One human. Ten minutes. Look at my file. Ticket ID 1fb694fc-0b0e-40e3-9941-43b2e2c47bc5. That is all I am asking for.

I do not want to file the BBB complaint that is already prepared. I do not want to send the press pitches that are already drafted. I do not want to escalate to regulators. I do not want to pursue legal action. I want to resolve this with Shopify directly, human to human.

But I cannot stay silent while my family goes without food and my business dies because of a decision no one at this company will defend.

If anyone reading this works at Shopify and can route my case to a real human at Merchant Trust, please. Ticket ID 1fb694fc-0b0e-40e3-9941-43b2e2c47bc5. I am begging.

If anyone reading this is a merchant who has been through this, I see you. I am sorry. This should not be happening to any of us.

@artiumecom We’re genuinely sorry, but. I don’t think so, anyone can help you here… Only the Shopify team can help you… You will try to connect to the Shopify support system, and you have to wait till further updates. They will definitely get back to you… You can also connect here -support@shopify.com

Hey @artiumecom Shopify has frozen the payments due to a risk review, so the funds are currently on hold. I honestly feel really bad for you especially knowing how stressful this must be. The best step now is to escalate the case with complete business proof and clearly request a manual review from Shopify Support. If there’s still no response then you may need to go for an external complaint or legal escalation. At the same time it’s important to start preparing an alternative payment provider so your business can keep running without further delays.

Thank You …!

Hi,

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. A frozen balance of that size can put a real business under serious pressure very quickly, especially when suppliers, staff, delivery partners, and family expenses are involved.

From what you described, this sounds different from a normal payout delay. Shopify Payments being disabled and the funds being held until a future date usually points to an account-level risk or compliance decision, rather than a simple missing-document issue.

One important thing to understand is that these decisions are not always based only on current chargebacks or whether the business is real. Sometimes the review is based on perceived future exposure, product/category classification, business model risk, claims made on the website, fulfillment risk, regulatory concerns, or internal risk scoring.

That does not mean the decision is correct — but it may explain why the response is vague and why standard support is not able to give a detailed answer.

At this stage, I would try to keep the next message to Shopify very structured and evidence-based. Something like:

• request a manual review by Merchant Trust
• ask for the specific risk category that caused the Shopify Payments termination
• ask whether the hold is a standard reserve for future disputes/refunds or a different type of restriction
• ask whether any portion of the reserve can be released earlier based on documentation
• attach one organized evidence packet rather than sending documents across multiple separate messages

That packet could include:

• company registration
• manufacturing proof
• supplier/manufacturing agreements
• invoices
• fulfillment records
• tracking/delivery confirmation
• refund and chargeback history
• website policy screenshots
• product photos and packaging
• proof of customer support activity

The key is to make it easy for a human reviewer to understand: “This is a real business, here is the product, here is the supply chain, here is fulfillment proof, here is dispute history, and here is why the reserve should be reconsidered.”

Also, while continuing to push for review, I would strongly recommend preparing an alternative payment setup immediately so the business does not remain dependent on one processor. Even if Shopify releases the funds later, you need a way to keep accepting payments and operating.

I truly hope someone from the appropriate team reviews this manually. Based on what you shared, the most important thing now is getting clarity on the exact reason for the risk decision and whether the reserve can be reviewed or partially released. So sorry for you man :frowning:
