Hi, sorry if this question has been asked before. I tried to search for a solution and contact Shopify help but I haven’t been able to solve my issue.
I’m currently in the process of setting up my Shopify store and I’m running into a shipping error / glitch. I have 2 items.
Item 1 - Small, light weight product that ships for free. Item 2 - Clothing, larger item that uses Shopify calulated shipping rates.
When a customer orders each item individually, the see the correct shipping methods at checkout. But when the items are ordered together, buyers only see a “Shipping” option, and none of the Shopify calculated methods. Photos attached below.
I would suggest that you use only a single shipping profile and employ Canada Post carrier calculated rates.
You can configure different product weights, and the rate will be calculated for the total order. You do not need to configure shipping profiles and rates for each product.
If your business requires flat-rate shipping, I suggest using the same name as the shipping method so that rates will be combined when both products are added to the cart together.
Thanks for the help. I’ve just tried this on my store but now I’m running into a new problem.
I’ve restricted the store to just 1 shipping profile which does fix the issue where customers are ordering Items 1 and 2 together. But now when customers are ordering just Item 1 with free shipping, it now pops up with these options from Canada Post (I only want the “Envelope Rate” to appear when customers are buying item 1).
Hey Nick. Others have already offered solutions – you may also want to take a look at our shipping app Starshipit if those aren’t suitable. Best of luck!
