Does anyone know if it is possible to have part of the catalog synced … then manually add other products (those with variants in shopify) by putting them in another catalog? That is … mix up products from a manual catalog with products from a synced catalog?

Can you explain what do you mean by a “synced” catalog and a “manual” catalog? What’s the difference between the two?

In Instagram shop, a synced catalog is one where the products are sucked up directly from Shopify (via a Shopify plugin). Change the products in Shopify and the changes appear in Instagram shop. A manual catalog is where there you enter the product details, photos, etc. directly into Instagram shop and just offer a URL that points to the Shopify product page.
Ah…Gotcha. I wish I could test this out for you and try to achieve a mixed synced + unsynced catalog, but I’m quite pressed for time with my clients so you might want to ask from other devs.
