Shopify is automatically changing Inventory is 0

Hi! I have been putting products on my online store and from time to time some items are becoming 0 in inventory even though it’s not yet sold and I don’t know why.

Could I know how did you add products to your store?

If you’re experiencing issues where products on your online store are showing a quantity of 0 in inventory even though they haven’t been sold, there are a few potential reasons and solutions you can consider:

  1. Stock synchronization: Ensure that your inventory is properly synchronized between your online store and your inventory management system or the platform you use to manage your products. If there is a disconnect or delay in syncing, it can lead to inaccuracies in inventory levels. Check the settings and integration of your inventory management system to ensure proper synchronization.

  2. Manual errors: Double-check your product listings and inventory management processes for any manual errors. It’s possible that the inventory quantity was accidentally set to 0 while updating or managing your products. Review the product details and ensure that the correct quantity is assigned to each product.

  3. Product variants: If your products have variants (e.g., different sizes or colors), make sure that the inventory is specified correctly for each variant. It’s possible that the inventory for a specific variant is set to 0 while other variants still have available stock. Check the inventory settings for each variant and adjust accordingly.

  4. Automated inventory rules: If you have automated inventory management rules or apps installed, review their settings to ensure they are not causing unexpected inventory changes. Some apps may have rules or configurations that automatically adjust inventory based on certain conditions. Make sure these rules are properly configured and aligned with your inventory management needs.

  5. Technical issues: Occasionally, technical issues or glitches within your e-commerce platform or inventory management system can cause inventory discrepancies. In such cases, it’s recommended to reach out to the support team of your platform or system to report the issue and seek assistance in resolving it.

By reviewing these potential causes and taking appropriate actions, you can address the issue of products showing 0 inventory even though they haven’t been sold. It’s important to regularly monitor your inventory levels and investigate any discrepancies promptly to ensure accurate stock availability on your online store.

I‘m experiencing a similar issue right now. I always manually update products and don’t have any special rules set. It seems to be a Shopify glitch. It’s not happening with every product, just a few. Every time the specific products are sold the inventory goes to 0 on hand and then -1/-2/etc available. It’s frustrating.

We have the same issue, and we hace 3000 items. Sometimes we have a stock of 10, we sell a few but inventory still in 10. We always fulfill the orders, etcm but still showing 10. Or the oposite, we have inventory and shopify change to 0.
