Hello, in Turkey and in Turkish, when we fill in the Title field on pages, collections, products, and everything else, the generated URL is incorrect. Instead of converting the characters, it removes Turkish characters from the URL and generates it that way. It’s a completely flawed system. I think Shopify is deliberately making mistakes in localization. We are experiencing problems with localization. It’s very strange that they provide service in Turkey and similar languages with different character types without solving such a major problem.
I know I can change the URL manually, but I opened this thread to report this issue to Shopify.

What a coincidence!! I was actually reading about form validations last night and specifically about this where special characters get converted or names like o’brien, o’connor, etc are considered not valid.
The article stated and I kind of agree that it is a bit discriminatory. Websites, stores and features should be the same for everyone and not judged by names not matching the developers perspective. It’s a person’s name, their tradition, you don’t want to make people change who they are.
Anyways, you should probably bring this up in dev.com forum where actual Shopify staffs are, may be they can escalate this.

Unfortunately, Shopify developers are inadequate in many areas and ignore the improvements we report. They still haven’t resolved the address collection issue I reported 3 years ago. Because Türkiye and many Asian countries don’t have a federal system, we experience significant problems with address collection. The Shopify team is one of the worst software developers when it comes to localization.
It seems they only make changes to what they deem best. We can’t really point fingers you know, I mean i don’t think developers are making decisions here. Who knows what going on the background.
