Shopify modify/cancel order confirmation email

I am using shopify store for my website. A user can book a coaching session with me and pay online. Once the payment is done a confirmation email is sent to the user. I have following questions. I will be grateful if someone can guide me-

  1. Is there a way to switch off default order confirmation email on shopify store ?
  2. Is there a way to modify the order confirmation template on shopify store ?
  3. Any other recommended service that can be used to send automated emails once an order is placed on the shopify store instead of shopify’s default email service ?
  4. Can i attach invoice and terms&conditions “file” on the order confirmation email ?

Thank you for your question.

I would love to provide some information that you might need.

  1. You cannot switch off the default order confirmation email that will send to the customer if you’re on the Basic Shopify plan, that’s only be done if you’re on the Shopify Plus plan.

  2. You could modify the order confirmation template. I’m attaching the video tutorial about this here.

  3. You could consider using our AVA Email Marketing, SMS, Popups app which will help you customize order confirmation, shipment confirmation, return email, PDF Invoice email, etc, and send them out to your customer.

  4. You could attach invoice and terms&conditions “file” on the order confirmation email by integrating our AVA Email Marketing, SMS, Popups with our AVA PDF Invoice: Order Printer

Hi @AvadaCommerce Thank you for the information. It is really helpful. Follow up questions for you

  • By using your service or any similar service stops shopify from sending order confirmation email and instead send email through your service ? If not, then customer would receive more than 1 email if i have to send invoice etc.
  • By using your service or any other similar service allows to modify shopify order confirmation email like adding invoice to the email ?

Thank you for getting back to me.

Because the order confirmation email cannot be turned off by default, if you still want to use the same type in AVADA (for example Order confirmation email), then we suggest making AVADA emails sent after Shopify emails using wait time.

For the second question, as mentioned above, if you use our **AVA Email Marketing, SMS, Popups **app for sending order confirmation emails, you can add invoice to this email automatically by integrating with our another app AVA PDF Invoice: Order Printer.
