Shopify More Menu Headers in Venture Theme

Hi,

We are looking to have our header have more menu options on the top banner than what are currently available.

We currently use venture and have 6 menu items on our header, however when we look to add a 7th/8th it makes it all turn into a dropdown menu on the side.

Is there anyway in which we can be helped out here so we can have more menu items on our top header.

I have attached an image below to give an indicator on how we would like it to look for us.

This is all on desktop vision we are talking about here. Mobile view has no issue at all.

@BaseCampWA - hello, did you try to put menu items from navigation option in back end? you can add more menu items

So I have attached what it looks like when I add more items to the navigational menu.

It creates that fold away menu and takes ahead the headers menu that we are wanting to keep.

Are you able to help us with what we are looking for?

@BaseCampWA - actually I could see the only image you attached which shows you want more images, can you add more and show how it looks?

So I have attached the website in its form with the 6 menu headers;

We are looking to increase that number to possibly 9 menu items however when we get up to 7 items it starts to create its own mini menu on the left hand side and it removes the main banner at the top of the page.

How do we go about extending these menu headers,

@BaseCampWA - ok, we will need to check menu code then, can you add me as collaboarator? may be menu is limited to 6 items, if we can make it 9 in code, it should work

@BaseCampWA - i checked js file, navigation files but there is not such code which makes menu to go on left after certain number of items, can you please give me a day to check more? it looks bit complicated

@BaseCampWA - good morning, I went through the code again , issue is since you activated the account login on right side, it is taking some space of menu and hence menu is forced to go to hamburger mobile menu.

This is because theme do not calculate number of items but calculates the available space for menu items, so even 50 menu items do not take all space they will show up else even 5 will cause it to go to mobile menu.

SO I changed few code and hide the account to make it like preview link below, it is preview only I did not change on live site, you have my email below, if you want then I can share screenshots. and if this is ok then can make it live

That looks amazing,

Are we able to get the coding so it can have that last collection on the top list before going all Hamburger menu on us. It’s just we know we will be needing that extra menu spot in about a fortnight’s time so it’s best we get it all set up now with the default Campboss category as it’s placeholder.
