It’s clear that Shopify is for ecommerce and not really for bloggers, but it would be great for bloggers if adding custom blocks of code were simpler. I’m not sure what the problem with adding a block of javascript is, but back when I was using Wix, it was very simple to add banners from Amazon that were js. I have been searching the discussion boards, and I’m finding that a lot of people are unable to do the things they want to do because of this limitation. With the price increases on the plans, I am beginning to explore Wordpress as a better option as I’ve shut down my store and I’m just using my website as a blog now.

Would request you to try using custom liquid in shopify customization option.
Custom liquid section can used to insert any type of content be it html, js, css or liquid.
