I need only pickup in store at checkout, but that’s not the main problem. The problem is that Shopify says that since not all steps are completed for the account setup, payment cannot be activated. So I completed several steps but this thing with the markets is where I couldn’t proceed. I only wants to sell in Belgium for the moment. But for some reason I cannot complete this step.
Topic summary
A Shopify store owner is unable to activate payments because the platform requires completing all account setup steps, including Markets configuration.
Core Issue:
- The user only wants to sell in Belgium with in-store pickup
- Shopify’s setup process blocks payment activation until Markets settings are completed
- The user has a Basic plan and doesn’t need multi-market functionality, creating a catch-22 situation
Suggested Solution:
- Another user recommends activating Markets, then deactivating all countries except Belgium to restrict sales to the Belgian market only
Current Status:
- The original poster is seeking clarification on how to implement this workaround
- The issue remains unresolved as they navigate the required setup steps
Hey,
I believe you can activate it, then deactivate selling to other countries except Belgium.
That way, your store only sells to the Belgium market.
@PaulMartin_1 how ?
@PaulMartin_1 I can’t get the payments to work because of the Markets settings, but since i have a Basic plan and only sells in belgium we don’t even need market. But it’s a bit of a chessmate situation
