I’m experiencing a strange issue with a Shopify store that I didn’t initially set up:
My page (‘pages/example-page’) is clearly set to the “Default page” template in the Shopify backend (under “Pages”). However, when visiting this page on the frontend, it displays content from a completely different template, let’s call it “custom-template”.
Interestingly, when clicking on the small “view template” icon next to the template selection dropdown in the backend, Shopify brings me directly to the “custom-template” in the theme customizer, even though the dropdown explicitly shows “Default page.”
Has anyone experienced this internal template mismatch or knows how Shopify handles these internal template associations? I want to ensure that for all other pages, the assigned template shown in the backend dropdown accurately reflects the actual template being used on the frontend.
