TLDR: My friend’s Shopify Payment Gateway is unavailable, what else can she use to capture payments at checkout besides PayPal? We’re based in Australia.
One of my friends recently bought a Shopify jewellry store that has been dormant for 18 months as her new venture.
I found out her Shopify Payment Gateway is unavailable (the “Manage” button is greyed out), despite she’s able to edit her bank account to receive payouts. The only checkout option on her website was PayPal.
She added Stripe, but then was informed by Stripe they don’t support her product category - jewellry. (I couldn’t find this in Stripe’s Help Docs???)
She removed the Shopify Payment Gateway after adding Stripe, and now the whole Shopify Payment Gateway section has disappeared.
She’s been reaching out to Shopify Support everyday (for two weeks now), but we haven’t received any solutions other than “we’re looking into this”.

Anyone in AU experienced this similar issue, and how did you resolve it?

What can we do in the meantime? I’ve suggested she create an account with all three payment providers listed above while we wait for Shopify to get back to us.

I’ve also suggested she put up a storewide banner asking website visitors to email her to process the orders manually. (Horrible CX, but better this than nothing?)
