Shopify Payments Paused | Unresolved

I am reiterating what I stated in an earlier post. I mean no disrespect by posting this. However I am very frustrated with the fact that Shopify Payments Paused issue has been ongoing and there is still no resolution. This is a backend issue NOT a front end issue.

I myself have submitted a ticket which I am told has been escalated. I signed up for a Shopify trial on 15, November, 2025. Since that date I have had the infuriating red banner that states that payments are paused.

There is no explanation as to why. I have contacted Shopify’s onboarding support and they stated that the Shopify payments freeze is out of the scope of what they are qualified and equipped to assist me with. I have submitted a ticket which I am told has been escalated. Yet there has been no follow up and no response to my repeated inquiries regarding said ticket.

I have not even begun to set up my Shopify storefront because I need this issue to be resolved before I can proceed with building and launching my Shopify storefront.

Having Googled this issue I see that I am NOT alone. This seems to be a widespread issue.

What is Shopify doing to address this?

That’s the 8.88 Billion dollar question… They’re obsessed with replacing humans with ai, so don’t expect it to be fixed anytime soon.

Thanks for your response to my post. What you stated is spot on and clearly outlines how myself and others feel. Shopify seems to be inundated with Shopify payment freezes. I have read numerous complaints regarding this issue. It seems others experiences are very synonymous with my own. That stated, I would like to make it clear that I am not trying to cast Shopify in a bad light. I am new and inexperienced. I am still learning the Shopify platform. My hope is that by posting this Shopify might reach out and give myself and others a clear explanation and concrete guidance on how to remedy this. Shopify needs to be made aware that this issue is affecting many besides myself. Thanks again for response. I will keep everyone posted.

I just read your response to my post. This is infuriating. Not only has there been no resolution but I have now been made a fool of by Ai! OK! I am very real flesh and blood human being who is really frustrated and upset now. I consulted with what I thought was a very real flesh and blood Shopify support team member on January 1st. I signed into my Shopify account and I requested to speak with a human about a support ticket through Sidekick. I then chatted with a Shopify Support team member who stated that my support ticket would be forwarded directly to Shopify Business Operations Team who I am told have been inundated with support tickets for this very issue. So PaulNewton do you have any suggestions as to what the best course of action is? I am ready to quit Shopify altogether. This is unacceptable. I am sorry but I have seriously hit my limit with this now. If someone from Shopify’s team reads this, please do something to fix this please. No one running a Shopify business should be forced to contend with this!

Or get a lawyer.

And take a step back, touch grass even , I’m not a therapist don’t rage post at me or others.
It doesn’t do anything but waste everyone’s time.

NO ONE here can resolve legal or financial matters for you and you should seriously examine WHY you may have thought so because it’s the type of behavior that lines you up to be a desperate target.
