Shopify payments without being a registered government business

Hi there,

We are a small business who have recently switched to shopify from Wix. However we are currently not able to receive our payments from shopify despite shopify taking our monthly subscription out our account every month.

Shopify is allowing our customer to place order however is withholding our money as it requires us to submit a government registration document. However we are a very small business whom do not meet the required threshold each month in sales therefore do not require to legally register our company just yet. This was never an issue on our previous Wix website and we are confused how to proceed without these documents!

Any help would be greatly appreciated as we currently can’t use our website which we are paying a £25 fee for each month and we can’t access a contact number to speak to anyone.

Kind regards

Jay

Hi @Mintbleudesigns ,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that this is a frustration but our payments team should be able to clarify this hold and what is required to release the funds. If you have received an email, please respond to that as it will be returned to our payments department for them to review. If you have not received an email, you can start a live chat via our Help Center and a member of our support team can take down your details and offer assistance.
