I am writing this as a final warning to other merchants and a public demand for action from the Shopify Billing and Fraud Operations teams. Shopify has been withholding $727.53 of my hard-earned money for SIX MONTHS.
I have jumped through every hoop, provided every identity document requested, and played by the rules, only to be met with a loop of broken promises and unmonitored email addresses.
The Timeline of Failure:
• The “Priority” Lie: On Wednesday, Feb 25, I spoke with Advisor Annu regarding Ticket #95f5ad6a-8aea-4f50-bb1d-0b32986b5e8b. Annu confirmed that my 6-month wait was “endured” and that my expectation for a 24-hour update was “totally fair”.
• The “Internal Flag” Deception: Annu claimed to have placed a “Final Internal Flag” on my case to ensure a priority review by the Fraud Operations team.
• The Ghosting: I was promised a summary email and a 24-hour follow-up. I received nothing.
• The Broken System: When I attempted to follow up, I received an automated bounce-back stating that Shopify’s support email is not monitored and no ticket was created. How is a merchant supposed to resolve a 6-month-old issue when the communication channels are intentionally dead ends?
• The Contradiction: Today, I spoke with Rick Guy. Despite the “Final Internal Flag” and the “Priority” status promised by Annu, Rick informed me that there is “no 24-hour promise for updates on escalations” and that flags “don’t guarantee a fixed timeline”.
The Reality:
Shopify is happy to continue processing my new orders and collecting their fees, but they refuse to release $727.53 that has been sitting in limbo since last year. One advisor promises priority; the next advisor admits priority means nothing.
I am officially disputing this delay. I have the chat transcripts, the ticket numbers, and the proof of Shopify’s conflicting statements.
Shopify Moderators: Do not give me a generic “we’ll look into this” reply. I have been “looked into” for 180 days. DO NOT SEND ME TO SUPPORT.COM I want my funds released immediately.
