We’re ready to expand more fully to a new sector, but it looks like we’re limited to multi-stores or Shopify Plus at $2000+ month. Why doesn’t Shopify offer Plus ala carte? I don’t need 250 logins or fancy API. I need a portal for my B2B commercial customers to build their own quotes, get bulk discounts, use PO’s, have an account and/or their payment info saved.
My research is finding my only options are a second Shopify store and using a bunch of apps to sync inventory, copy products between the sites, update products, get reports etc.
That gives us a brand identify doesn’t get us any of the B2B features we need. What am I missing? Why isn’t there an intermediate step?
If you need to have a content on the site that you only want visible/accessible to your wholesale customers, then you can use the Locksmith app to lock or hide pages/product/collection to non-wholesalers: https://apps.shopify.com/locksmith
The only thing you’ll really be missing is saving payment info for future orders – but it’s usually not a big inconvenience for wholesalers to have to put in their CC details for each order (they’ll do it if they have to).
Then build around that. Customer account info is saved in your store automatically, payment info is not. You should be able to do everything else you describe using the built-in functions of Shopify plus an app like the one above:
-B2B accounts
-Quote Request
-Bulk Discounts
If you need to, you can also limit access to your B2B pages in your store using something like Locksmith as well.
It should be possible for far cheaper than upgrading plans. Hope that helps! @biznazz101
