I’m seeing something really strange on my Shopify Plus store.
I’ve been seeing sudden 1 day drops in sales and can’t seem to pinpoint what is causing the issue.
I saw this once on 20th July and once on 26th Aug.
Here are the details:
- Sessions 1 day before and after the affected day are the same
- I’ve even gone in to both shopify and GA to check the sessions coming from each individual channel and there wasn’t a huge change in anything.
- No changes made to the traffic drivers to the website
- Some changes to the website such as changes to the homepage on 25 Aug, but I would expect poor performance to continue if it was the change on the homepage that caused the poor sales on 26 Aug?
- Biggest drop off in conversion funnel is from Checkouts to Purchase
My suspicion is that customers could be facing issue during checkout, but is there any way we can detect or check on this?
We’ve had instances when customers wrote in to tell us that they faced issues when trying to make payment, however our dev team was unable to replicate the issue.
This sudden 1 day drop has happened twice and is really strange. Please see below screengrab of how drastic the drop is and hence i don’t think this is linked to seasonality. we don’t ever see such low daily sales (I’m looking back for the past 6 months) and would like to hear if any one has encountered similar issues or has any inkling what could be wrong.
