Shopify POS Customer metafields are missing in customer record

We require editing a customer metafield in Shopify POS as part of the “create customer” process during in-person checkout.

I was shocked that the POS customer record did not include the customer metafields. This is such an obvious requirement. How do I get this functionality ASAP?

Here are some suggestions for your development.

Expose customer metafields in the POS just like you do for Product metafields.

IF NOT, allow a liquid developer capability to allow us to customize/edit POS templates. create this new capability in liquid. BECAUSE another ridiculous hole in the POS GUI is that the we should have the capability to show customer contact fields on the “customer facing” display so they can enter their name, phone, email on the customer display (not turn around the CS tablet)

IF security for all customer metafields is an issue, then add a “Display on POS” option for customer metafields so it doesnt expose all metafields (like in case of customer loyalty points apps, etC)

We cant find any workaround with a plugin or additional POS configuration or development tools . anyone solve this?

We got the same issue for some customers in our country we need specific fields we haven’t been able to integrate, we’ve done through a third app, shopify should work urgently on this

Bonify doesn’t work very well and the GUI is poor. It seems to function but is clunky.

We are beyond that now, and need shopify to open up liquid templates and snippets to POS and Customer screen - so we dont have to go thru Graph or whatever other place most of the POS and customer facing templates are.

We are having the exactly same issue.

How its possible not to have customer or orders metafields in POS when u are performing Checkouts Extension.

This subject should get more attention. The question was raised more than two years ago and there is still no update or solution for this from Shopify. It’s such a basic requirement to be able to fill customers metafields via the POS app.
