I have about a 1000 products in my shopify catalog. However on Facebook which links to the store there are about 1500 extraproducts that are out of stock and have been for a long time and are no longer part of the shopify store. Why is the catalog showing on the facebook store not syncing to only show in stock products from the shopify store. It also means when tagging products in Instagram and Facebook it shows the out of date items that are no longer available.
Hi,
This is the Facebook catalog’s expected behavior. Products are not systematically removed from the Facebook Channel’s catalog. It is expected to see that products stay in the catalog even after they are removed from Shopify or made unavailable on Facebook. These products will be displayed as “status: hidden” rather than “active.”
You can confirm a product’s status by going to your Facebook Catalog manager.
Hope this was helpful!
Thanks for the reply. However I did have out of stock products still showing up in the facebook store as being in stock but a click on the link for that product then showed a 404 error on the website as the product is not available in shopify. I have done a manual archive of some of the items when I see them pop up on Facebook. Was just wondering if there was a quicker way to archive these sold out products. Makes tagging products a nuisance also in Instagram as even though they show as greyed out they all still show up in the products available to tag. Thanks
We are having the exact same issue. Would love to find an answer this!
