Shopify reply doesn't show up

Topic summary

A user reports that replies posted to other community members’ inquiries disappear after refreshing the page, despite their account showing the posts were made. No error messages or notifications are received explaining the removal.

Key findings:

  • The issue occurs on one account but not another when posting similar content to the same topic
  • This suggests possible automated content filtering or code of conduct violations
  • The user receives no feedback from Shopify about why posts are hidden

Community guidance provided:

  • Check Community Guidelines and Code of Conduct for potential violations
  • Posts may be automatically removed for blocked words, prohibited links, or spam-like behavior
  • A moderator was tagged to investigate potential technical issues

Regarding post deletion:

  • No self-delete option exists for replies
  • Users can edit posts to remove content or report their own post for removal

Status: The root cause remains unclear—could be automated filtering, technical glitch, or unspecified guideline violations. The lack of transparency in Shopify’s moderation process is a concern for the user.

I reply to. other people’s inquiries on Shopify Community. But when I refresh the page , my reply doesn’t appear although in my account it says 3 posts (because I replied to 3 posts from others). But after multiple times refreshing the inquiry posts, my reply doesn’t appear.

Do I have to wait for Shopify to allow it to appear? Or do I violate any rule? How do I know what’s happening? and how do see all my replies?

And can I delete the reply that I posted?

Hi @just-in-casey

Welcome to the community. You should first check

https://community.shopify.com/post/2811341

Your posts could be removed for one of the following reasons. Maybe take a screenshot before/after posting. Do you have an example of a post that does not show up?

And while posting, you could get some error messages if you use words that are on the list of blocked words, or some not allowed links or HTML.

Also, I had a few times a mistake to click on Report and to start typing like it is Reply :slightly_smiling_face: Note that if your IP is black-listed, you will get some message too, so you should know.

Hi, thank you for your answer.
Let me clear the situation
I reply to other people’s post (like when you reply to my post), I done reply but 1 sec later when I refresh the page my reply’s gone. I receive no notificattion about what’s matter with my reply.

All other replies to other people’s post from me have the same problem. However when I go to my account, it says (photo), Where are they? How can I see them?

P/s: I’ve read the code of conduct & guideline but I see no violation in my reply.

It may also be a technical issue here, so nothing to do with your posts. But it is a small chance.

I see just 2 posts, so others may be hidden.

@jasonh could you check it out? Thank you.

I reply on other account, not this account that’s why you only see 2 posts. Maybe I’ll give it a try tomorrow or on other account to sort out the problem.
Final question, can I delete my reply on other post?
Thanks!

Hi @Laza_Binaery , I try to reply to that same topic with this account. However, the reply is posted and kept. I modify the content a bit but basically 2 types of content are the same.

So maybe the case is my previous reply violate some kind of code. However why don’t I receive any message from Shopify about that? They just disappear, leave me in concern, not saying anything. At least I expect Shopify will help me point out what’s wrong with my reply.
Thanks!

I do not see an option to delete the post yourself. You can maybe report your post and be removed in that way.

But you should be able to edit a post and remove all content if you want.

Again, it depends on what you posted exactly. For example, there are a lot of scams going on, and “experts” do not want to reply and help, actually, but just want to contact by email. And with spam, too, Shopify does not need to reply and explain
