Hello. Is there a way to track what sizes sell best in my store? I sell women’s clothing, and I would like to know which size (SM,MD,LG,XL,2X) sells the best so I can order more of that size. I think it is size 2X but I want to be certain.
Topic summary
A Shopify store owner selling women’s clothing wants to identify which sizes (SM, MD, LG, XL, 2X) sell best to optimize inventory ordering, suspecting 2X is the top seller.
Suggested Solutions:
- Use Shopify’s built-in Analytics > Reports > Sales by Product Variant SKU to filter and view sales by size
- Export order data to CSV for manual analysis in Excel/Google Sheets
- Note: Shopify’s native reporting tracks variant title rather than variant size specifically, which may require manual data manipulation
Alternative Option:
- Better Reports app offers automated size-level reporting but costs $149/month
- The store owner declined this solution, finding it too expensive for their needs (only 3-4 uses per year)
Status: The discussion appears resolved with the store owner receiving multiple approaches, though they’ll likely use the manual export method rather than paid tools.
hi @B_Lew
You can definitely track which sizes sell best in your store. Since you’re selling women’s clothing and want to confirm if size 2X is your top seller, here are a few ways to get accurate data:
For Shopify:
- Go to Analytics > Reports > Sales by Product Variant SKU or Sales by Product.
- Filter by size variants (SM, MD, LG, XL, 2X) to see which ones sell the most.
- You can also export your order data to a CSV and analyze it in Excel or Google Sheets by size.
Hi @B_Lew ,
Ciara here from Better Reports, I wanted to share some ideas for reporting on product and size.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Shopify allows you to create a report based on product title and the variant size. They only let you report sales based on product title and variant title. Depending on how you have named your variants, you’d need to use the solution already suggested in this thread that involves exporting the report and doing some offline reformatting in a spreadsheet.
If you want a less time-intensive and more automated solution, Better Reports can create reports on a size-level ![]()
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
I looked at your app last year. It is very expensive. $149 per month for a reporting app is insane. I would only need to use it 3-4 times per year. Thank you.
