Shopify "Server Error" when trying to save new products

Topic summary

Issue: Sudden redirect/login loop to the “choose an account to continue to Shopify” page whenever attempting to edit anything in the Shopify admin on a laptop.

Environment: Occurs on both Firefox and Chrome on the laptop; works normally on a home computer.

Symptoms and clues: Chrome initially showed a message related to ad blockers preventing login. Clearing cookies and adding Shopify exceptions to blockers did not resolve the issue.

Troubleshooting: After resetting Google Chrome settings (returning the browser to defaults), Shopify began working correctly on that device.

Outcome: Functionality restored on Chrome following the reset. No confirmed fix was reported for Firefox, but the root cause appears tied to browser/ad-blocker settings on the laptop rather than a Shopify server issue.

Status: Resolved by local browser reset; no further action items or platform-side changes noted. No images, videos, or code are central to the discussion.

My shop has performed without issues until a few days ago and now when I try to edit anything on my shop I get ‘thrown’ out of it to the page that says “choose an account to continue to shopify” where my email address is listed which I would click onto to get to my account.

When I click on my account it takes me back there but anything I try and do - I am just thrown out back to the screen above again.

I have used both firefox (my usual browser) and Chrome and it does the same on both. All of this is on my laptop. When I logged in on a home computer everything worked fine.

I have cleared cookies etc on my laptop but this made no difference. When I tried to log in this morning on Chrome I could not - the message was something about “ad blockers”.

I have made an exception for Shopify on my settings for anything that may be blocked…

Can anyone help??

I have reset the settings on Google Chrome and it seems to be working now…
