Shopify & Shopify POS - Erfahrungsaustausch

Hey
wir sind österreichischer Händler mit 3 Ladengeschäften und einem Shopify Online Store.
Da Online immer mehr wächst und unsere Wawi + Kassensystem per se keine direkte Schnittstelle zu Shopify anbietet (habs dann selbst gecoded) überlegen wir einen kompletten Systemumstieg auf Shopify

  • Um weniger Fehlbestände zu haben
  • Agiler bei der weiter Entwicklung von Prozessen zu sein
  • Kostengünstiger zu arbeiten
  • Direkter Bestandsabgleich über die Filialen

Ich suche Erfahrungsaustausch mit Händlern, vorzugsweise in AT (gerne sonst auch DE) die das bereits umgestzt haben oder Vorschläge zu anderen Tool-Stacks - wenn zufrieden.

Hey @RocketWMGmbH
Current system audit

First document everything in your existing setup:

Products & SKU structure
Inventory logic
POS workflows (sales, returns, exchanges)
Online order flow
Store transfers between branches
Accounting / ERP exports
Customer data handling

Understand exactly what must be replicated in Shopify.

  1. Define system ownership

Decide: Shopify becomes the MAIN system for:

Products
Inventory
Orders
POS (stores + online unified)

ERP/accounting system handles ONLY:

accounting
invoices
tax reporting

Avoid dual inventory systems.

  1. Clean & prepare data before migration

Before moving anything:

Remove duplicate SKUs
Standardize barcodes
Fix incorrect inventory counts
Clean product variants
Organize collections/categories

Bad data = biggest migration failure cause.

  1. Set up Shopify foundation

In Shopify:

Create store structure
Configure taxes (Austria/Germany rules if needed)
Set shipping zones
Set payment providers
Configure basic policies (returns, shipping, etc.)
5) Configure multi-location inventory

Set up:

Store 1 location
Store 2 location
Store 3 location
Warehouse if applicable

Then define: stock per location
inventory rules
fulfillment priority
transfer process between stores

  1. Set up Shopify POS system

Install and configure Shopify POS:

connect all store locations
assign staff roles
configure permissions
connect payment terminals
set receipt printers/barcode scanners

  1. Pilot store testing

Do not migrate everything at once.

Start with 1 store:

Test:

selling in POS
returns/exchanges
inventory sync
online order sync
barcode scanning
payments

Fix issues here before scaling.

  1. Integrate accounting / ERP system

Connect:

invoice system
accounting export (e.g., DATEV if needed)
tax reporting
payment reconciliation

Ensure compliance before going live.

  1. Run parallel system test

Before full switch:

Run both systems briefly:

old POS system
Shopify POS

Compare:

inventory accuracy
sales consistency
order syncing
10) Go live store by store

Rollout order:

Pilot store
Store 2
Store 3

Avoid all at once migration.

  1. Train staff

Train employees on:

POS usage
returns/exchanges
inventory checks
transfers between stores
online order handling

  1. Post-launch optimization

After migration:

install Shopify Flow (automation)
set low stock alerts
automate tagging/workflows
optimize reporting
improve fulfillment logic

I hope It’s help you

Thank You…!
