Just a heads up to any of you who may be considering this platform for starting your ecommerce business and may ever run into an order you need to cancel and refund to the customer; Shopify does NOT give you all of your money back to make the transaction complete and STILL takes their fee from you!!
This may not seem like a big deal, but to anyone who has high ticket items like I do, you will loose TONS of money when you need to cancel a transaction/order and refund your customer their money (even if they wish to spend it on another one of your products).
I just got off the phone with multiple agents and they simply told me that I’m screwed and to suck it up. For a small business, loosing $60, $100, and even $250 for a transaction netting me $0 profit because it was canceled is a very hard hit and it’s even more frustrating that they do not care to support their paying clients. $60 or $100 to Shopify means nothing, however, to me that is 10-15 orders worth of profit I now have to somehow make up for because shopify robbed me of my money.
Thanks for nothing Shopify! I will most definitely be moving my businesses elsewhere!!!
