SHOPIFY - stop ignoring our requests to delete cancelled and refunded orders from our lists!

Topic summary

Central issue: Merchants cannot delete or hide cancelled/refunded orders from the admin order list. These orders persist as “unfulfilled,” cluttering views and distorting fulfillment counts even when all active orders are shipped.

Impact: Pages of old cancelled/refunded/voided orders remain visible, making day‑to‑day order management and status tracking harder. Users explicitly do not want workaround filters.

Requested solutions: A simple option to remove, hide, archive, or move these orders to a separate folder. Prior feature requests were submitted in 2019 and 2022 with no change reported.

Shopify response: Staff acknowledged the feedback, will pass it to developers, and stated there’s no additional information or timeline. They noted that more merchant feedback can increase the likelihood of implementation.

Status: Unresolved and ongoing. Key unanswered question: Will Shopify add a delete/hide/archiving option for cancelled/refunded orders and when? No images, videos, or attachments are central to this thread.

It’s been years since this request has been brought up and there is still NO FIX to removed any cancelled or refunded orders from the order lists. They sit on my admin page and throw off all my lists - when I have all orders shipped - I still have pages of unfulfilled orders that have long been cancelled and refunded.

Don’t tell me to filter my views

Don’t tell me it doesn’t really matter for my counts

Don’t tell me you can delete it if the order was a draft, manually paid, blah blah blah.

This needs to be fixed. I pay a hell of a lot of money every month for this service and yet, I can’t do ONE SIMPLE THING? Delete an order that is absolutely pointless to have messing up my admin? Pages and pages of cancelled, refunded, voided orders from years and years and yet they still say “unfulfilled.”

A “feature request” was done in 2019. Then again in 2022. Yet there is radio silence from Shopify on this. What the hell do we need to do for a simple DELETE button? Hell, call it whatever you want “Remove,” “Hide” I don’t care. Just get it out of our order lists.

I have to somewhat agree here, i do find it very annoying for lack of a better phrase to have to keep seeing all these cancelled or refunded orders, it would be helpful if we could move them to a new folder, or just delete all together.

Hi @DeniseVR

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback here in our community forums. I will be happy to continue providing this feedback to our developers on your behalf. I don’t have any additional information I can share at this time on whether this option will be coming to the platform. The more feedback we receive the better the chance it will.

Wow… I literally jumped on to see if someone had an idea of how to fix this! IT’S SO FRUSTRATING!!!
