Same here for both of my stores I got Chinese letters for the categories, this just happened out of nowhere.
Okay! So i’m not the only one! I thought I was absolutely going crazy.
I thought I had accidentally changed a setting somewhere or my Chrome browser was having a fit.
Seems to be a wide spread issue.
Same here across all three of my sites. On one site it is on all prodcuts and on other 2 its on random ones. Another frustrating issue!

Shopify advsior waiting time is 15 minutes minimum
Just got an reply on email that shopify ( Response To recap you were reaching out to us because of the category on your product page being changed into a different language. So upon checking with our internal team this is an ongoing issue that has been identified and reported by our developers today. Rest assure that they are diligently working on resolving this matter as quickly and efficiently as possible. Dont worry because your accounts is safe and Secure here on our end. Ill put your case on hold and we will update you within the day once it has been fully resolve) hope it helps to other merchants as well

I wish shopify would at least reply, because there are so many people here having the same issue… The very least they could do is put out a statement that they are working on it and how long it will take to be fixed because it’s really annoying that we can’t even get a hold of them for assistance or information
I am wondering whether it has anything to do with the new metafields/ google fields that have appeared in variants as all my fields are suddenly “blank” so google has no idea we are selling
Yes i agree they should let us know when they make huge chamges
