I’m wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I am trying to set up my store and it is flagged for review. I try to submit my ID (multiple forms over multiple attempts) and every time it just says “please try again with a different ID.” I have contacted support multiple times and each time they say they’re escalating it to a team, a trust team, a credit team, a compliance team, a risk team.
At this point I just think they’re making up teams to keep my store down. Is there any way I can get this fixed, as this has been a recurring issue over the past few months with MULTIPLE stores. I’ve contacted support and risk management and no dice. In the past, I have talked to 20+ advisors over a plethora of stores and waited weeks for no resolution. Shopify needs to fix their platform.
That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after months of trying and speaking with so many support advisors. Just curious have all the affected stores been created under the same business details, payment method, or device/IP address? Sometimes repeated reviews can be triggered by something in common across the accounts.
I’d be interested to know if anyone from Shopify has actually explained the root cause yet, because being passed from team to team without a clear answer would drive anyone crazy.
Hello there @StevenD1 I’m so sorry that you’re experiencing this.
If you continue to experience valid ID rejections in the verification flow at multiple stores, concentrate on making the business information (legal name, address and business details) is exactly the same on all documents. Even minor inconsistencies can cause review issues again and again.
If possible, try to submit a different type of government issued document and please do not create new stores while an existing store is under review, multiple verification atempts may lead to the process being delayed. Maintaining consistency and completeness in a single store application seems to lead to better results than going through the process again and again.
