Shopify Tax Settings - VAT Number validation for B2B Customers

Hi there,

Can anyone explain where Shopify Tax validates B2B VAT numbers, for zero rating

or where there is any info on setting this up,

Thanks Mike, Does the customers vat number have to be validated by the seller manually,

Can the customer not enter their vat number themselves at checkout or when they register & validate it?

The seller would need to open the buyer and tap into the field, yes. We’re exploring ways (no ETA) to do it for a previously entered number. We are also exploring ways to bring it to checkout (no ETA); however, the latency of the government services (up to 10 seconds) make it more prohibitive without affecting conversion.

We are currently using the Exemptify app, which does all that. but would rather it was built in..

I’m not aware of any delays verifying through that app, might be worth looking at.
