Shopify Theme with Merge variants Filter Capability

Hi all,

I currently run an online fashion e-commerce store. I need to get a theme that will allow me to merge product variants into a single product filter.

For example, for colors, suppliers use creative color names for their products (sky blue, azure blue, pale blue etc) but ultimately they are all light blue.

I need a theme that will allow me to merge all of the colors into a single color filter (light blue), ideally in a swatch format on the collection page:

Would anyone know of a theme which has this functionality built in (I don’t want to use a 3rd party app).

I’m aware there are metafield options but would anyone know if there is a step-by-step guide on how to do this?

I’ve used Shopify Search & discovery app. used the group values under the color setting.
