Shopify and google have moved tracking from the old methods to the new Google You Tube app. That works fine as long as you are using the shopify native payment app. As soon as you do not, the purchase event not longer works for all social media including google paid ads! I worked with several google technical support personnel and they each gave up and were not able to get it to work.
Shopify in it’s infinite (… fill in your issue), banned nutritional supplements from their payment gateway. That was not an issue in the past because the purchase event still worked by writing a script in the thank you page. That is no longer allowed.
All solutions that we have tried do not make it out of Shopify’ S sandbox. The solution we are currently trying to get working is the webhook → github → railway → google ads but that has not worked as well.
So what does this mean? It is a loud and clear message to anyone not using Shopify’s payment gateway. Shopify wants you out of their ecosystem!
