This was rolled out as beta in July as far as I can remember. Is anyone actually getting this? If you are on the $79 or higher plan it was to be included. I see ads all over like the one below, seems odd to advertise a feature that is not available.
Hi, @Shanet94
Eunice here from Shopify, thanks for posting ![]()
I can confirm that Shopify now offers included shipping insurance of up to $200 USD for eligible labels purchased through Shopify Shipping.
At the moment, this is currently available to 80% of eligible Shopify stores with a pending roll-out date to 100% of eligible Shopify stores.
Your shipment must meet the following criteria to qualify for included shipping insurance of up to $200 in order value:
- Your business is on the Shopify, Advanced, or Shopify Plus plan
- The shipment is shipped from the United States
- The label is purchased through Shopify Shipping
- Your store has Shopify Payments activated
- The label has a tracking number included
- The products comply with Shipsurance’s Terms of Service
I hope this covers your query. If you have any questions please thread those here, I’d love to help.
Mine still does not offer it. I guess I am that unlucky 20%. Do you have a eta on the pending roll out to the rest of us?
I don’t have an exact date for you, but, developers have estimated that all eligible stores will have included shipping insurance of up to $200 USD available to them before the end of 2022. We’re now almost in November so a 100% roll-out shouldn’t be too far off ![]()
I agree that it’s strange to see ads for a feature that may not be available to all users.
While I can’t speak to personal experience with the insurance plans, it’s always important to read the fine print and understand the terms and conditions before signing up for any service or plan. This can help you avoid any confusion or disappointment down the line.
I plan on getting financial planning physicians and have found tips to eb careful, when forming the documents. I hope that helps.
