Shopify Updates Are Tripling Work

Why is Shopify making all of the new updates more complicated. Everyone one of them is adding more steps. Inventory, add to pages, add to collection. The list goes on and on. With AI why are you making program complicated.

Hey @Z-Rays2190 so first of all more features=more steps AI helps with content , not necessarily with reducing workflow complexity . valid frustration, but it’s a product design trade-off , not a contradiction.

The issue usually isn’t one extra click by itself. It’s how quickly small workflow changes start stacking on top of each other when you’re managing a store every day.

Individually the changes often seem minor, but over time the platform can start feeling noticeably heavier to operate.

Hello @Z-Rays2190

You’re definitely not the only one feeling this. A lot of recent UI changes seem optimized for flexibility and larger catalogs, but for day to day merchant workflows they can add extra clicks and slow things down. One thing that helps is using bulk editor views, saved admin filters, keyboard shortcuts, and pinning frequently used sections in the admin. For collections and inventory specifically, third party bulk management apps can sometimes restore the faster workflow merchants were used to before the updates.

The forums can be a good place to get emotional support but if you do have a particular issue that’s causing you problems, the best way to try and change things is to report it to Shopify Help. There is a chance they will take your feedback into account

Just keep telling the AI that you want to talk to a human until it says it will connect you, then wait until someone answers. Take screenshots of your particular issue and tell exactly what the problem is and how you would prefer it to work.

Good luck!
