Shopify's Bundles App giving discount

Hi,
I am creating Bundles using Shopify’s Bundles App.

I have 10 packets of biscuits in my Biscuits Collections.

The price of each packet is £5.
I created a bundle called 3 packets for the price of 2 packets.
So, the bundle is customer will get 3 packets for £10.

Now in the biscuits collection I can see individual biscuits with the price £5 and also bundle with the price of £10 (3 packets).

If a customer selects bundle, he will get 3 packets for £10.

If a customer selects 3 individual packets (£5 each), it does not turn to £10 (customer should pay £15).
I feel it is not good.

In both cases customer is buying the same products (3 packets of biscuits).
Whether the customer selects 3 individual packets or he selects a bundle of 3 packets, he should get the offer of £10. Is that possible?

Otherwise I should find a way not to show individual packets in the collections page.

We tried Bundler App, but it does not show the bundle on the collections page together with other products.
That is why we decided to use Shopify’s bundles.

Thanks

Hello @paulson1 ,

Use the iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell app to ensure customers receive the bundle offer regardless of how they select the products.

  • Install the app and set up the bundle offer (3 packets of biscuits for £10).
  • Configure iCart to apply the discount automatically when customers add 3 individual packets to their cart.
  • This way, they receive the bundle price even if they choose individual items. You can also highlight the bundle offer on your product and collection pages to inform customers about the deal.
  • Configure iCart to automatically apply the discount when customers add 3 individual packets of biscuits to their cart. This ensures that they get the offer price of £10 instead of £15.
  • If you prefer not to show individual packets in the collection, you can modify your collection template to exclude certain products or use a tag to filter them out.

Hi @Ellie-BOGOS

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation.

The only problem I found with the native approach is the £5 discount will be applied only once.

If someone buys 6 packets of biscuits it should take off £10 instead of £5, but the system has no option for that.

Thanks,

What if I want the minimum quantity of each product in the cart to qualify for the discount rather than the minimum quantity of a total number of specific items?

For example, I have three products that are eligible for an automatic discount with a minimum quantity requirement of three items in total. However, if I remove the first product and increase the quantity of the second product, I still qualify for the discount. I would like a fixed minimum quantity of one for each item included in the bundle.

Hey @paulson1 and @Av18

I’ve run into this same issue before, and unfortunately, Shopify’s native Bundles (and even some apps like Bundler) don’t really give you the fine-grained control you’re looking for.

One option you might want to look at is an app I built called NeatBundles. It lets you:

  • Enforce rules on selections — for example, you can require customers to pick each product exactly once, or allow multiples depending on your setup.

  • Show the bundle as a normal product, so you can feature it right in your collections page alongside the individual items.

  • Keep inventory synced, since the chosen items are still tracked individually at checkout.

So in your biscuits example, you could create a “3 for £10” bundle that appears just like a regular product in your collection. Customers are guided to select exactly 3 packets, the discount is applied, and everything stays tidy in your catalog.

It’s free at the moment (and if you sign up now, you’ll keep it free forever), so it could be worth a try before you go down a more complicated route.

Hope it helps!

Hi @paulson1 :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’d like to share an update!

You can now do exactly what you want by using the Volume Discount in an app called BOGOS.

How Volume Discount works:

  • Customer adds 3 packets → cart auto-adjusts to £10

  • Customer adds 6 packets → cart auto-adjusts to £20

  • …and so on, based on the tiers you set.

:backhand_index_pointing_right:The key point: The discount applies automatically, no matter from where customers add the packets to cart— whether they add from the collection page or a bundle product of 3 packets. In both cases, they always get the correct deal (£10).

How to set up Shopify Volume Discount:

Step 1: Try the BOGOS app’s free plan (4.9 :star: , 2k3+ reviews)

Step 2: Create offer and choose Volume Discount.

Step 3: Apply the Volume Discount to your Biscuits Collection.

Step 4: Set up your discount tier (no limit for the number of tiers created)

Step 5: You can choose to display the widget on your product page or not (volume discount still works anyway).

Here’s an example of the widget on your storefront.

Optional:

  • You can also display a “3-pack bundle” as its own product page with BOGOS’ Classic Bundle feature (like what Shopify Bundle app does)

  • This way, both options (Volume Discount + Bundle product above) work all in one BOGOS app, no other apps needed for easier tracking performance, and without overlapping.

Hope this update helps make your bundles much smoother for both you and your customers!
