hello,
Shopyfy Main navigation menu DROP DOWN is not working on desktop, But in my mobile drop down works perfectly. Please help me.
here attached both desktop & phone screen shot
.
Issue: The main navigation dropdown (drawer-style) does not work on desktop, while it works on mobile. Theme: Spotlight. Site: himartshopping.com. Screenshots were provided for desktop and mobile.
Details shared: The problem existed before any custom code was added. The user later added a hover effect; hover behavior works, but the desktop menu layout/drawer still fails.
Troubleshooting guidance: A moderator asked about custom code and recommended testing the menu on a clean (unmodified) version of the theme to rule out third‑party code conflicts. They also suggested hiring a Shopify Expert for a custom solution.
User stance: They have a copy of the original theme (pre‑customizations) and are seeking community help, not a paid service.
Status: Unresolved and open. Next step suggested is to retest on a clean Spotlight theme and compare results to isolate the cause.

Hey, @Jiji2
Happy to look into this. What is the name of the theme that you are using? If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
hello,
Theme: Spotlight
This is my website. I want the desktop menu to drop down like a drawer. Unfortunately, it is not working correctly on desktop, but it works perfectly on phones. There seems to be an issue with the desktop version.
please help,
Hmm, that looks strange. Have you tried to paste any custom code into your theme?
Yes, I have already updated the custom code, but even before that, I experienced the same problem. That’s why I attempted to fix it by using a hover effect. However, the hover effect works perfectly, but I am still facing the same issue with the desktop menu layout and drawer.
Gotcha, with there being third-party code I would suggest testing the menu again on a clean version of the theme without 3rd party code injections.
However, if you are looking for a custom coded solution on your existing edited template, I’m confident one of our Shopify experts would be able to accomplish this at a reasonable price.
Just wanted to share this as an option in case you are unable to find a coding solution in your thread.
thanks for the option.
I got a copy of my Original theme before third party coded, I am looking for an expert opinion but currently not looking for paid service.
I hope some one can help here!
